script to check if project is open on other system

not sure if this is possible, I doubt it, but...

I work in a facility, AE projects are worked on by many artists. If 2 artists unknowingly open the same project on the server, they can unknowingly save over each other's work..
Is there a script, when run, would check to see if anyone else has the project open?

Hi,

I think you're right, this is beyond the scope of After Effects as determining who has a file open is quite a low level operating system task.
