Does anyone know why a ram preview will get lost on a Mac when you stop it? On a PC, (I've never been a big PC fan) you can ram up a preview ... do what you want and come back when it's done. On the Mac when I do this the display is whacked out ... all white, but is running the preview. When I click to let the display refresh ... zap! The ram preview is gone? What gives?

Is there anyway around this? This sucks.

This is not exactly a general AE discussion spot, so you're better off getting replies if you use dedicated forums like creativecow or the mediamotion list.
However what you are saying seems like a problem to me. This shouldn't be the behavior at all.
I would say there might be an issue with your graphics card, or with your display, but can't be sure.

All the best

I've now discovered that the ram preview will work fine ... as expected if you only touch the zero key on the 10 key pad. As long as I start and stop the preview here ... everythings fine. Weird.
