Sorry if this isn't exactly scripting but I really need confirmation on this...
It seems that the BMP exporter is broken in After Effects 7.0 in that it only allows you to select 32-bit format. Making any other selection is immediately ignored/reset to 32-bit.I discovered this when having to export files for use in another program that only accepts 24-bit format. I had to convert all of these with Photoshop which is going to be a big pain later on...
Is this true or is there some other setting that could 'lock' the export to 32-bit? Your comments appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Darkmoon,
I did a quick test :
- 1 comp, 1 solid, 5 frames
- render queue, BMP Sequence, Format Options - BMP Options -depth 24 Bits, Render
Exported images were 24 Bits so I guess this functionnality is not broken.
But you're right, if you click again on the Format Options button, the former selection is automatically reset to 32 Bits

I have a template set up to export the BMP. I set the dialogue to 24-bit, hit OK. I would expect this to be saved to the profile.
However when AE renders it still produces 32-bit. I consider this to be a major bug with After Effects and it's really going to adversely affect my workflow
Does anyone have any suggestions?
