Time offset an expression in AE (+ bonus question!)

Hello AEnhancers,

I have a questions which I believe is rather simple to answer, but I just can't figure it out. I'm relatively new to expressions.

I simply want to offset the time of my layer, so the expressions I have from the beginning of the layer will happen 3 minutes into that layer instead.
Is there an easy way to do this?

A somewhat unrelated bonus question:
If I have a precomp in another composition and I applied the time remapping effect to this precomp and therefore changed its timing... is there an easy way to have a certain frame in this precomp (one on a music beat for example) and then find the corresponding frame in the original composition (which does not have the offset of course)? I.e. is there a way to "copy" these markers to the original comp?

Thank you.

MD

Composition markers appear as layer markers when nesting the comps. The rest: time+180 (AE thinks in seconds, so 3min = 180sec). Splitting the layer is simpler, though.
