How do I do this on a Mac? On a PC it's easy ... but how do I do it on a Mac?
I'd rather not duplicate the application if I can.
On a PC, I create a shortcut and add "-m" to the target and that it.
Is there a similar way on a Mac?

Gather renders
That's where I get into trouble. Because I need my renders to be named the same as the project for version numbers ... all the renders end up with the same name. Not good. It's no big deal really. I'll just use the watch folder. I just surprised there isn't a way to watch a folder from the command l...

hey convert expression to keyframes is cool
Wow, I didn't even know that was there. It's a bit complicated to get to work at first but once you know how it's great.

What I'm look in for in UNIX would look like this: aerender -project /path/path/Render_project_1.aep ; aerender -project /path/path/Render_project_2.aep When the first project finished it'd move on to the next. What I'm trying to do is avoid running several copies of AE. BTW: If you want to run mult...

Stack AErender tasks
In DOS, how does one stack a sequence of tasks? I know in Unix I can just use a semi colon and when one task finishes it'll go on to the next, but in DOS the "&" symbol doesn't do anything. If I stack two renders using &, they both fire up at the same time.

Keys
I think you mean to say that you need to plot the data for a transfomation ... If that's the case I used to do this by using Motion Math and multiplying by 1. That gave me a key frame for every frame, but you'd have to do that on the original layer then copy that to any other layers. Last time I tri...

I can't help with the scripting of this.
But, I'm wondering why you'd do such a thing? Would it basically just duplicate an animated mask onto another layer?

Are you saying that you need a script that takes the properties that parenting controls and turn them into expressions?

proxy
I would think this is pretty easy. 1. Make a Output Module that utilizes the "Import and make proxy" post render action. 2. Set that Output Module as the default. 3. Select all footage and drag into Render Queue or choose Make Movie. 4. You may want to use the NewRenderLocations script to ...

Command line watch folder?
Is there a way to get aerender to watch the watch folder? I can't find it.
Also, I've been told AE is only single treaded, and therefore by rendering two separate command line renders you can get a dual proc machine to be more efficient. Any truth?

Windoz retard keyboard
On a Mac if you have caps lock on and hit shift you still get a cap. I can't believe on a PC you hit shift and get a lower case. It's retarded! I'm looking into disabling the caps lock key. I don't know if AE will still respond to it correctly or not. I type pretty fast and hate to go back and fix t...

cAPS lOCK nIGHTMARE
On a Mac it's no problem, on this windoz thing it's a nightmare. Hitting shift and any letter with the caps lock on gives you a lower case. I can't stand it. Does anyone know anyway to get this to work the way it should? I mean who every hit shift and wanted a lower case letter? Ugh! I'm gonna take ...

Yea, you are right it's safer to precomp it and leave it alone. Who knows what could happen otherwise. The only thing is that the slate we're using places the comp name in the slate. So now it's got the extra "S" ... you know some places they go nuts if a slate isn't exactly right, even if...
