Live linking mask path to motion path

How about a way to live update a vector mask path to a layer's postion motion path? (or vice versa)
I know one can freely copy and paste bi-directionally between a mask and a layer's position, but it's kinda clunky. Changing one doesn't update the other. Have to copy and paste every time I make a change.
